Romans 7:18I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. 19For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. 20Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
21So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. 22For in my inner being I delight in God's law; 23but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. 24What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? 25Thanks be to God—through Jesus Christ our Lord!
So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God's law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.
Romans 8:1Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,[b]2because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.

2. Fight Smaller Battles
-
Don't rate them so high - Ephesians 6: 10-18 (NIV) 10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

- Emotional attachments are foundational to life, but which ones bring health and which ones damage you?
- Benefits of healthy attachments: good self esteem, morality, handling of stress, and adding meaning to your accomplishments.
- A failure to bond leads to distorted, unbalance thinking.
- How to bond: admit a need, move towards others, be vulnerable, allow for differences, negotiate the other persons defenses, be empathetic, listen to the Holy Spirit's guidance, say "yes" to life activities.
